The book named after a brightnessזֹהַר
correspondences
nature
Daniel 12:3: and the wise shall shine like the zohar of the firmament — the brightness, the radiance of the sky.
That is where the book gets its name. Set the two titles side by side and the whole seeing/hearing split is already in them. Talmud means study, learning — an activity, done with the mouth and the ear. Zohar means radiance — a phenomenon, and one you can only meet with an eye.
And the verse is about teachers: it is the wise, the ones who turn many to righteousness, who shine like stars. The brightness is not a reward waiting elsewhere. It is what a person who has understood something is said to look like.
