Yevamot 49b: all the prophets saw through an unclear glass; Moses saw through a clear one — aspaklaria ha-me'irah.

The word is Greek in origin — a mirror or lens, a thing you see something through that is not there. ⭐ Note what the Talmud is doing: it is grading prophecy by optical quality. Not by truth, not by authority — by how much the glass blurs. Everyone is looking at the same source; the difference is the instrument.

The others receive parables and riddles that have to be decoded. Moses receives the thing with its details intact.

This app finds the word extremely useful and uses it on itself — see app-aspaklaria. A screen is an aspaklaria in the literal sense, and the tradition has already told us there are two grades of them.
