Exodus 20:15. At the one moment the tradition is built on, the verb is wrong on purpose: וְכָל־הָעָם רֹאִים אֶת־הַקּוֹלֹת — and all the people saw the voices.

Not heard. Saw.

Rashi, following the Mekhilta: they saw that which is heard — which is impossible to see on any other occasion. A one-time miracle, and he says so precisely because it is the most supernatural moment in the record. ⚠ Ibn Ezra is less sure it needs to be a miracle at all, and reads it as a conceivable perception. The disagreement is live; this app reports it and does not settle it.

⭐ Whatever it was, the description is synesthetic: at the founding moment the channels are not separate. Every later rule that keeps them separate is a rule about a world in which Sinai has stopped.

And this app has already built the instrument without noticing: Room 2's ⌬ the vowel takes a sounded thing and draws it as a seen trail. It has been quoting this verse for weeks.
